INCREDIBLE THINGS (2017)
INCREDIBLE THINGS will be an ambitious public artwork led by award winning artist David Shearing, who creates immersive experiences that invite audiences to reconsider their relationships with each other and their environment.
Created together with people across Leeds, this project will see the creation of wild, beautiful and magical interventions unfold over one year in 2018/2019. Some will be on the rooftops of Leeds. Some will be hidden in the bowels of the city. Some will be riots of culture and colour taking over the streets. Some will small and intimate, where others will be for thousands of people. All of them will be created in close collaboration with the people of Leeds.
Phase One of the project (Spring/Summer 2017) set out to test initial ideas. Working with partners across the city we hosted workshops with ten community groups and devised four teaser ‘Incredible Things’.
